About startzero.money

What is startzero.money?

startzero.money is a startup financial planner for founders starting with little or no cash. You answer six plain questions and get a live plan: cash runway, break-even, workload, and full financial statements, plus planners for lifetime deals, crowdfunding and funding proposals.

Who is startzero.money for?

Founders who are starting without a big budget: side-project builders, indie hackers, first-time founders, freelancers turning a service into a product, and small teams preparing a lifetime deal, a crowdfunding campaign or their first investor conversations.

Do I need to know finance to use it?

No. Simple mode asks everyday questions and builds the financial model for you. Finance terms only appear where they help, each with a one-line explanation, and you can tap any number to see exactly how it was calculated.

How is it different from a spreadsheet template?

The profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet stay connected automatically, so one change updates every number. It also checks your workload with a Burnout Guard, models lifetime deals and crowdfunding, compares your plan with real results, and drafts proposals from your numbers.

Which countries and currencies does it support?

Any country and currency. Country packs set currency, number format, tax defaults and local funding options; India, the US and the UK have packs today, and every local rule is marked for verification. You can also show key figures in a second currency.

Planning and numbers

How does startzero.money calculate runway?

Runway is cash divided by net burn, the money you lose each month after revenue. startzero.money projects cash month by month, including hires, growth and one-off costs, and shows the lowest point your cash reaches and when.

How does it work out my break-even month?

It finds the first month your projected profit turns positive and stays positive for the rest of the plan. Break-even depends on your fixed costs, your price and the variable cost of each customer, including payment fees and AI usage.

Are the numbers predictions?

No. They are projections from your assumptions, and the app always words them that way. Every figure can be traced back to the inputs behind it, and you can compare the plan with your actual results each month.

What is the Burnout Guard?

The Burnout Guard compares the hours your plan needs, for building, marketing, admin and support, with the hours you actually have. It flags months above 85% of your available time and suggests costed fixes such as part-time help or a slower roadmap.

Does the AI make up numbers?

No. AI only writes text, such as proposal drafts and campaign copy. Every number comes from your plan, projections are always worded as projections, and missing facts are shown as highlighted gaps for you to fill in rather than invented.

Lifetime deals and AppSumo

Can I plan an AppSumo lifetime deal with startzero.money?

Yes. The lifetime-deal planner models the marketplace share, refunds and payout timing, then the monthly cost of serving lifetime users. It shows the month costs overtake the cash kept, recommends a code cap for your hours, and includes an AppSumo pre-application checklist.

Is there a startzero.money lifetime deal?

startzero.money has lifetime tiers that are redeemed with codes, and codes can be stacked for higher tiers. Redeem a code on the redeem page; each tier has clear limits on projects, seats and monthly AI credits.

What does the AppSumo pre-application checklist check?

It follows the areas marketplaces vet: a digital product, a working V1, public pricing, lifetime tiers priced below a year of the matching plan, delivery by codes or webhook, test logins, support, and JPG or PNG listing images with one header and up to five screenshots.

Funding and crowdfunding

Which funding options does startzero.money cover?

Pre-sales, lifetime deals, crowdfunding (rewards, donations, equity and lending), grants, angel and venture investment, and loans. The Funding Hub suggests options for your stage and country, and AI drafts proposals from your plan, with gaps highlighted instead of invented.

How does the crowdfunding planner set my goal?

It adds up making and shipping rewards, campaign marketing, a buffer and any money the business needs, then divides by the share you keep after platform fees, payment fees and tax. It also works out the email list you need for a strong first week.

Does startzero.money give financial, legal or tax advice?

No. It calculates projections from your assumptions and explains how. For tax, legal or investment decisions, especially equity crowdfunding or raising money, check with a qualified professional in your country.

Pricing and account

Is startzero.money free?

Yes, there is a free plan with one project, a 12-month plan length and monthly AI credits. Paid plans and lifetime tiers add more projects, longer plans, exports, boards and more AI credits.

Can I export my plan?

Paid plans and lifetime tiers export an Excel workbook, a CSV file and an editable PowerPoint pitch deck, and every chart downloads as a PNG or SVG image. A JSON backup of your project is always free, because your data is yours.
